The Silent Majority Project

This lens-based workshop project was designed to harness the positive creative potentials of socially deprived and incarcerated youth from marginalized African communities. Art has the incredible power to transcend barriers and create meaningful change. Through these art processes, participants are given a platform to express themselves, explore their creativity, and develop valuable skills. By engaging with art, individuals are able to overcome psychological obstacles, boost their self-esteem, and cultivate self-awareness.

The Silent Majority Project recognizes the importance of education for personal development and advancement,  promotes the acquisition of skills and abilities for financial independence that creates equal opportunities for both genders.

The primary goal is to re-orientate inmates to make informed choices, reach their full potential and participate meaningfully in developing their immediate environment.

We acknowledge the fact that self-awareness; self-expression, effective communication skills are fundamental to positive change for young adults in correctional facilities.
