Olusola Otori's exploration of cultural diversity in Africa, along with his focus on religion, spiritualism, politics, and power in marginalized communities, showcases the depth and complexity of his work. He utilizes different mediums like painting, photography and film to express his artistic vision.

By combining natural and vibrant African elements with texture, he not only captures the beauty of African culture but also sheds light on the social and economic disparities that exist using art as a platform for positive social change.

Through his photography and film, he brings attention to the impact of urbanization on traditional art practices and cultures. Urbanization can often lead to changes in the way art is created and appreciated, as well as the preservation of cultural heritage.

By documenting and capturing these changes, Otori raises awareness about the evolving landscape of traditional art and cultural practices in the face of rapid urban development. This exploration allows viewers to reflect on the challenges faced by communities in maintaining their artistic traditions and preserving their cultural identity

In 2004, Sola initiated “The Silent Majority Project” a creative art and photography workshop for street orphans , socially displaced youth,  teenagers in juvenile detention and correctional facilities. The creative workshop identifies the various challenges they encounter and provides sustainable solutions that; harnesses their creative potentials through artistic processes. It also grants access to information required to generate regular financial income. This workshop project has been significantly effective in rural communities both in Lagos, Nigeria and Kampala, Uganda.

Sola received his training first as an apprentice at the ‘Abayomi Barber school of thought’, university of Lagos between 1992 & 1998.  He studied art and design at Yaba College of technology in 2002 and established his multimedia studio thereafter constantly working on photography assignments and commissioned art projects.
