Osogbo is an important market town of the Yoruba people, bustling with thousands of little shops, motor parks, markets, bars, enormous mosques and churches, and fabulous baroque houses derived from Portuguese architecture that was brought back from Brazil by liberated slaves in the late nineteenth century. Osogbo was the centre of contemporary Yoruba theatre, and by extension an important centre of contemporary Nigerian arts from the 1960s.

The Discovery Project using community engagement as a springboard to improve the quality of teaching, further community support for education for all including the formation of associations for girls both in and out of school and increase girls’ motivation to learn, future ambitions, and life skills. Group activities boost the self-confidence of the girls, showing them that they can accomplish goals and develop their full potential
Makoko an 18th century coastal settlement built on stilt is situated off the mainland in Lagos Nigeria. The first inhabitants were mostly fishermen and they chose to live there as they could tell when tides were good for fishing. The south of Makoko is surrounded by the Oko Baba sawmills and to the west and north by other inland communities.
In recent times, the occupants are either from divers cultures in Nigeria or immigrants from other countries. They have all come to seek for greener pastures. There’s no government presence in the community, which could be due to the fact that Makoko is a self-governing community
A new building style adopted. In order to avoid loosing precious property in the future, neighbors & extended families build on top of an existing one instead.

After the Hausa state of Kebbi was conquered by the Fulani Empire in 1808, Kebbi's rulers fled to Argungu to found a new emirate. Though the neighboring Hausa state of Gwandu conquered Kebbi in 1831, it was unable to fully secure control of Argungu, and a series of revolts followed. By the end of the century, Argungu had become a de facto independent state, though it was again conquered by the British in 1902.
